(155) The Power of Faith

Matthew 21:20-22, Mark 11:19-26

[A]When evening came, He went out of the city. [B]In the morning, as the disciples passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots and were amazed at how soon it had withered. And Peter, remembering what Jesus had said, said to Him, “Master, look! The fig tree which you cursed has withered away.”

[C]“Have faith in God,” Jesus said to them. [D]“For truly, I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt in your heart and believe that those things which you say will come to pass, you will not only do this to the fig tree, but you will say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea.’ And it shall be done; you will have whatever you say.

[E]“Therefore I say to you, the things you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them. [F]And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father who is in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. [G]But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

(155) The Power of Faith

Matthew 21:20-22, KJV

20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. 22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

(155) The Power of Faith

Mark 11:19-26, KJV

19 And when even was come, he went out of the city. 20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. 22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
