(52) Judging Others

Matthew 7:1-6, Luke 6:37-42

[A]“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. For if you judge others, you will be judged the same way you judge them. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For the same measure that you use is the one that will be used for you.”

[B]And He told them a parable: “Can the blind lead the blind? Won’t they both fall into the ditch? [C]A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like him.

[D]“Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not see the beam that is in your own eye? [E]How can you say to him, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck in your eye,’ when you won’t look at the beam in your own. You hypocrite. First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly now to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

[F]“Do not give what is holy to the dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces,”

(52) Judging Others

Matthew 7:1-6, KJV

Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. 6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

(52) Judging Others

Luke 6: 37-42, KJV

37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. 39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch? 40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master. 41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.
