The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into tempation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13

Matthew 6:9-13 contains what is generally known as The Lord's Prayer. It is His prayer in that He is its author. It was intended to be a model prayer. One important point in His prayer is that we should forgive others if we want to be forgiven. In verse 15, the Lord said: "But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
